Sound Production
In my
group (Saffron, Moses and myself), we had to plan a Vox Pop, where we present a
range of public opinion on a topic that is commonly spoken about. The interview
is mostly a street interview where we go ask the public what their views on the
topics we had chosen to ask the public about. Our group had come up with 5
different questions for 5 different topics, our group had chosen our topics had
been Instagram, Make-Up, Sexuality and Size and animation. Since people don’t
always agree and disagree with these issues and we wanted to hear people’s
opinion. We had asked a range of different people, we tried to no target the
people who we had known very well because the responses would seem bias.
However, we had used them as well as asking unknown people we had known even
though they’re answers may not be as useful if it wasn’t coming from someone we
had known. We were going to use an audio recording kit before recording it with
a camera.
Having a
vox pop was useful because it helps increase confidence; this helps develop
people’s build proficiency in image recording. Also, develop skills in sound
recording and create different interview techniques in street interviewing
situations.
The
equipment our group we will be using is a video camera mostly a digital camera
that SD- card is available for use. Microphones, which will mostly, used to
hear the audience response more because their views matter mostly. A headphone
so we can hear the audio while it’s being recorded. We had written the questions
on mobile phones since it would of have been harder to lose and easier to edit
the questions if someone’s response had been offensive, we had intended to make
the questions suitable for anyone to answer.
The
questions that had been made are from a range entertainment, stereotypes and
discriminations. Even though, most of our questions had been created for
entertainment purpose. In the process of recording our group would mostly use
close-up’s of the people who are being questioned and medium close-up’s and
long shots been used to show the interviewer finding people to interview and to
show where our group is. We are mainly looking to use single camera editing, it
will be easier to edit. The interviewer will be seen in the camera so a
shot-reverse-shot will be used or a medium close-up so both faces are seen in
the camera, even though we will angle the camera to play more attention on the
person giving the response. Depending on where we are, we would use a long shot
to show the different places we had gone to interview. Tripod will be used
mostly on a windy day so the recording doesn’t look messy and we have to
re-record the section. Graphics and titling will appear if the response is
funny because we would like our vox pop to be interesting not too serious
because our target audience is mostly aimed for teenagers from the ages of
16-19 because the issues are what we go through in our daily society. We will
make sure the scenery is bright enough mostly during night so there are street
lamps available.
In the
audio when it’s being recording we will try to have the camera in-between the
interviewer and the responders. So the audio can be clear to hear; however on a
windy day the microphone might have to move the camera from person to person so
the audio comes out clear because we will only be using one microphone and the
interviwer will have control of how the camera is held and moved. We will be
trying to avoid background noises as much as possible so we’ll make sure the microphone
is monitor sound. Try to find a microphone that is portable and will cut out
the background noise.
Propsal: Horse Meat Scandal
http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/may/10/horsemeat-scandal-fear-culprits-justice
"almost four months after the widespread adulteration of beef products with horsemeat was revealed by the food safety authority of Ireland, there are growing fears in the UK that the investgiation to identify the full extent of the fraud is being shut down, the Guardian had learned.
"there is deep frustration. there's a belief the FSAI must have known exactly what it was looking for, but the irish end is in lockdown and there is not the full flow of information we'd expect. we have a sense of immense pressure to close it down," - a senipr figure in the UK enforcement said.
a high-profile victim in the food industry, said : " it looks as though the authorities are not going to be able to identify and prosecute any major abattoir or processor that sold undeclared horse because of a wall of silence from the irish."
the horsemeat scandal lead to millions of burgers and ready meals being withdrawn from the supermarket shelves around eruope, but enforcement agencies say that where supply chain cross jurisdictions, they are not getting enough information. Industry victims report that their own efforts to find out where their meat was coming from are being frustrated beyond the immediate suppliers with whom they had legal contracts.
irish foof inspector - had found forzen horsemeant in beefburgers made by firms in the irish republic and the UK, and sold by a number of UK supermarker chains, including Tesco, Iceland, Aldi and Lidl.
mislabelle processed meat products have so far been discovered in the UK, the republic of Ireland, France, Norway, Austria, Switerzerland, Sweden and Germany. Suspicious products have also been withdrawn in the netherlands as tests are carried out.
Experts
experts say the scandal has highlighted the cimplexity of the food industry's supply chains across Europe.
in france, where seven supermarket chains have wqithdrawn all frozen beef meals made by Findus and Comigel, an initial investigation has found that horsemeat sold as beef orginated from Romanian slaughterhouses before being sold to a Dutch food trader, then on to a Cypriot trader and on again to a french firm.

Advertising : Unit 30
Advertising is the activity or profession of producing advertisement for commercial products or services. They are different forms of advertising which are signs which are big bold that advertise diner restaurants so you are aware they are there; having employees stand in public places with posters/billboards; using vehicles mostly buses to advertise products seeing as buses are big which makes them eye-catching seeing as they are popular use for the media and they are more such as wall paintings, billboards, mobile phones screen, printed flyers, radio, cinema, television, shopping carts l, web banners, web pops and more. Adverts have three basic characteristics which are, marketing(key concept), promotional content and promotional media.
USP stands for Unique Selling Point.
For example, watching the l'oreal advert they're unique selling point is "cause you're worth it".
Advertisers use a variety of techniques to get us to buy goods or services.
Some of the techniques they use is flattering words to make their targets audience feel confident in buying their products for example l'oreal slogan "cause your worth it" makes their audience feel involved with the celebrity so they will confident in buying the product they feel inspired by the slogan.
A celebrity endorsement when they use celebrities to help enhance their product, for example, the Venus advert they use Jennifer Lopez because she is seen as a idol to many females, using her would make their target audience want to buy the product more because viewers will believe in the product more seeing as Lopez has nice legs.
Expert endorsement or statistical proof is when you have an advert and the person in the advert is specialised in that area of the product for example, ford adverts the endorser would be targeted towards engineers because they specialise in knowing how to make and fix cars; however, a car sell man may not find it useful because he doesn't fix cars.
Target audience is a key consideration in making an advert. Seeing as not all products which have been made are suitable for all ages, demographic, gender and more.
For example, the durex advert is mostly aimed at people who are in class E because they used mostly teenagers mixed genders targeting teenagers about buying their product because it is easier to get messages across to teenagers by using people of their age ranges. Also, teenagers are seen as more sexually attractive.
Another example, Venus advert mostly targeted at females because we often care about how we look especially our legs because of our clothing; most female clothing have been made to reveal legs and arms which makes woman feel insecure, the advert targeted a personal issue females have. It has not been class targeted because females of all classes can access the product due to the price . They used Jennifer Lopez because people of all class look up to her because of her age and how she manages to maintain nice legs etc.
